The Rockefeller Center

By Josiah Keller · On October 24, 2013

The Rockefeller Center, in New York City, took nine years to construct, and was completed in 1939. The Center is a collection of 19 commercial buildings, with the original 14 all in classic Art Deco style. With such famous buildings as the Radio City Music Hall, and the GE Building, great works of art like the statues of Atlas and Prometheus, and being a National Historic Landmark, the Rockefeller Center is a place you won’t want to miss.

While at the Rockefeller Center, there are a variety of things that you can do. The Top Of The Rock Observation Deck has three viewing decks that give you a fantastic view of the city, and a lovely view of Central Park. To see visiting hours, get the address, or buy tickets, click here.

You can also take the Rockefeller Center Tour, to learn about the 80 year history of the Center, see the great artistry behind the Center’s buildings, gardens, and artworks. Address, hours, and tickets can be found by clicking here.

To get the benefits of both aforementioned attractions, you can purchase the RockPass.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work at a TV studio? Then the NBC Studios Tour in the Rockefeller Center complex is perfect for you! You can give a weather report in front of a green screen, tour the control rooms, see how the teleprompter and cue cards are managed, and more! Click here for details.

The Radio City Music Hall Stage Door Tour will guide you through the perfectly restored Art Deco landmark theater, take you behind the scenes of show biz, and even allow you to meet one of the world-famous Rockettes! Click here for more.

Other attractions at the Rockefeller Center include the Channel Gardens, the splendid Rockefeller Ice Skating Rink, and the famed Christmas celebrations.

If you’re wanting to satisfy something other than the eyes, you’re in luck! The Rockefeller Center has more than 40 places to dine, and a hundred shopping places. Whether you’re a tourist or a native New Yorker, they’ve got you covered.

The building can be found at 45 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10011.
